Philip Gamble

Philip Gamble

Founder and Managing Partner

Philip trained with the Home Office within their Nationality Directorate until 1992. He was the founder partner of Montgomery and Co and later Managing Director of 1st Contact Visas. He founded the present firm, as the name suggests, to focus on UK immigration and British nationality and is now widely regarded as the world’s leading authority on British nationality law and the effects of decolonisation within the former British Empire.

Philip has represented the industry on the Home Office After-Entry Committee and Advisory Committee of the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner. He has assisted the Home Office in formulation of their Policy Guidance in the past and has been actively involved in matters which have resulted in changes in Home Office Policy. Philip is registered with Immigration Services Commissioner as a level 2 adviser in Immigration. He lives in Croydon, South London and has two children.

Reg Bamford

Reg Bamford

Partner

Having qualified as a chartered accountant at Deloitte & Touche in Cape Town, South Africa, Reg relocated to London and spent three years in investment banking in the City. He then founded the 1st Contact Group, a tax and visa consultancy, in 1996 and turned this into a company with offices in three countries with over 200 staff.

More recently, he set up and runs the Sable Group of Companies. Reg lives in Putney with his wife and two young sons. In his spare time, he competes internationally at croquet – he is a four-time winner of the World Championships and holds the title of World Croquet Champion.

Donna Jarvis

Personal Assistant to Philip Gamble

Donna joined the firm in 2006 and plays a valuable role in the co-ordination of appointments and workflow for Philip Gamble. Donna not only manages Philip’s schedule, but is also a lifeline to anybody who is anxious about their immigration status. Her caring attitude and friendly manner put clients and co-workers at ease.

Yolanda

Yolanda Murray

Receptionist and Office Administrator

With over 30 years’ experience in administration and customer care, Yolanda joined Philip Gamble & Partners in January 2013 as Receptionist and Administrator. She is often the first point of contact for our clients and is known for her professional and friendly manner. Yolanda has a great work ethic, excellent communication skills as well as a warm and approachable nature.

Kelly

Kelly Hendricks

Business Development Manager

Kelly joined the team as Business Development Manager in June 2013. Based in Cape Town, South Africa and the UK she is responsible for lead generation, marketing and promotional activities for the firm. She is predominantly responsible for organising our British Citizenship Seminars in Commonwealth Countries and the Middle East and our relationship with the NHS in the UK. Prior to joining Philip Gamble & Partners, she worked at our partner company, 1st Contact Visas, in South Africa for three years where she gained extensive knowledge of the UK Immigration System and British Citizenship matters.

Joanne

Joanne Whitehead

Manager: UK Immigration

Joanne joined the firm in 2001 and is a level one Registered Adviser in Immigration with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner. She has been responsible for a variety of immigration casework. More recently, Joanne was responsible for forming the team dealing with the issue of Sponsorship Certificates under Tier 2 of the Points Based Scheme for the National Health Service and Private Healthcare. Joanne has been highly involved with visa audits for UK employers and is an expert in the country’s employment laws controlling the prevention of illegal labour.

Sandra

Sandra Zegarac

Manager: Work Permits

Sandra joined the firm in 2005 having previously worked with another leading UK visa agency. She is a level one Registered Adviser in UK Immigration with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner. Her talents lie in producing constructive and helpful solutions for clients with unusual problems. Sandra has been strongly involved with visa audits for UK employers as well as registering her clients for Work Permit applications. Sandra is fluent in English and Croatian.

Reena

Reena Kothari

Manager: Entry Clearance

Reena was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. She is a graduate of the University of Nairobi and started her career with KPMG Kenya. She joined Philip Gamble & Partners in 2010 and is a level one Registered Adviser in UK Immigration with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner. Reena is responsible for all UK immigration applications lodged with British posts overseas and has had notable success in this area. Reena is fluent in English, Gujarati and Kiswahili.

Gabriela

Gabriela King

UK Immigration Caseworker

Gabriela joined the firm in 2003 and is a level one Registered Adviser in UK Immigration with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner. Besides immigration casework, she has fulfilled a number of specialised roles within the company. She is currently in charge of quality control and file management. Gabriela is fluent in English, Slovak, Czech and Russian.

Grace

Grace Matthews

UK Immigration Caseworker

Grace joined Philip Gamble & Partners as a member of our Immigration and Work Permits team in 2016. She is a level two Registered Adviser in UK Immigration with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner. Prior to joining Philip Gamble & Partners, Grace volunteered with the British Red Cross and Bail for Immigration Detainees. Her interest lies in immigration cases involving Family and Private Life and is passionate about voluntary work.

Carol

Carol Povey

Client Co-ordinator

Carol joined Philip Gamble & Partners in 2011 as Receptionist and Administrator. She brought with her over 30 years’ experience in customer service. Carol now works in the Work Permits department which assists private companies and the UK Public Sector to obtain sponsorship licences and certificates of sponsorship for their non EU staff. She provides vital support to the team.

Robyn has recently joined us in the UK and has been working very closely with our British nationality researchers. Prior to this, she worked as a British nationality adviser in our Cape Town office for two years. Her background in management has given her experience in dealing personally and professionally with clients. Robyn’s excellent attention to detail, along with her experience and strong work ethic, enables her to deliver excellent customer service to our clients.

Maxine Furlong

Maxine joined Philip Gamble & Partners in January 2015, as part of our Umbrella department. She then joined the administration team, where she began learning about British Nationality and UK immigration routes. Maxine’s interest in different client’s unique situations led her to become an Immigration Caseworker. Maxine loves making her clients’ wishes to visit or move to the UK come true and has a strong passion for customer satisfaction. Outside of work, she loves travelling and discovering new places, seeing friends and spending time with family. She is currently studying a BComm in Business Management through the University of South Africa.

Kristy has been part of the Philip Gamble & Partners family for many years. She started off in tax refunds and then moved into the immigration department. Kristy has since become an expert in assisting customers with their UK visa applications and extensions. Dedicated to providing excellent customer service to all clients, Kristy has become particularly good at assessing what a client’s best relocation options are. Outside of work Kristy enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also has a keen passion for travel.

Sheldon joined Philip Gamble & Partners in 2010. He moved to Cape Town from Johannesburg at the age of 10, and attended Wynberg Boys’ High School. Sheldon assesses our clients’ immigration and citizenship options, and advises them on the best route according to their particular circumstances. In his free time, he enjoys running, fishing, graphic design and watching sport. Sheldon obtained a diploma in copywriting at Red and Yellow, and is currently completing his B.Comm through UNISA.

Jason started his career with Philip Gamble & Partners in 2008, as an adviser in our UK immigration department. With this experience, he changed roles to Immigration Caseworker in late 2014, preparing and completing UK visa applications on behalf of clients. These applications include British passports, Irish citizenship and other UK visas. Within this role his customer services skills are utilised to the full and he always provides a personalised service to all our clients. In his spare time Jason is physically active, predominantly playing football, going to the gym and cycling.

Phillipa completed her degree in Human Resource Management through Stellenbosch University, before indulging her love for travel and exploring the world. After having successfully explored positions in the retail, hospitality and lifestyle industries, Phillipa joined Philip Gamble and Partners in 2015. She enjoys the interaction with customers and the sense of achievement that comes with helping individuals and families fulfill their UK travel, immigration and study desires.

Meghan started her career with Philip Gamble & Partners in 2008, as part of our customer service department. From there, she also spent time in our UK tax refunds and forex departments, gaining valuable insight into the overall workings of the business. Meghan’s passion for customer service and personal growth eventually led her to our visa department, where she now works as a UK Immigration Caseworker.

Cathy was raised in South Africa and spent 10 years with the British Consulate in Pretoria, where she learnt first-hand about British citizenship. After relocating to the UK with her husband and family, she joined 1st Contact Visas and, more recently, the British Citizenship team of Philip Gamble & Partners. She is fluent in English and Afrikaans. Cathy is registered as a level one UK immigration adviser with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner.

Emma spent 10 years in a high profile role at the UK Border Agency and built up extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of UK Immigration. Her expertise includes civilian armed forces applications and EEA Regulations. She has recently joined the Nationality team as a caseworker.

Kaj Mahalingam

Kaj joined the firm in June 2013, choosing to start her career with the Philip Gamble & Partners Nationality team. She provides vital support to the Nationality caseworkers and often makes direct contact with the clients, ensuring prompt and efficient customer service. Born in Sri Lanka, Kaj moved to the UK 11 years ago. She completed her studies in London and holds a degree in Biomedical Science. She is fluent in English, Tamil and German.

Mishal

Mishal Patel

British Nationality Researcher

Mishal was born in Mombasa, Kenya and relocated to the UK in 2005 after having been the subject of a successful colonial nationality claim through Philip Gamble & Partners. Mishal is currently one of our most experienced researchers, having joined our firm in 2009. He works closely with Philip Gamble and is responsible for researching the historic facts of former British Territories related to Status Traces. Mishal has a special interest in East Africa and the sub-continent. He can speak fluent English, Kiswahili and Gujarati.

Jonathan Povey

British Nationality Researcher

Jonathan joined Philip Gamble & Partners as a British Citizenship Researcher in 2015. Prior to joining our citizenship team, he spent two years working in the immigration department at our partner firm, 1stContact Visas, where he gained extensive experience in immigration and citizenship cases. He obtained a degree in Economics and Management in the UK and also spent time living and working in the Czech Republic after completing his studies. Jonathan’s focus is on researching and exploring British citizenship cases that have not previously been examined. Jonathan is a level one registered adviser with the Office of the Immigration Service Commissioner.

Rajeshri came to the UK from Kenya in 1969 and has worked in administration and customer service roles throughout her career. After spending four years working for the UK Border Agency, she joined Philip Gamble & Partners, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. She uses her customer service and admin skills to great effect to support our staff. She is fluent in English and Gujarati.

Chelsea joined Philip Gamble & Partners in 2015 as a Nationality Administrator with a background in administration. Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, she has travelled extensively throughout the UK and developed an interest in British Nationality. She is organised, optimistic and dedicated. Using her exceptional customer service and administrative skills, Chelsea ensures that all of our clients have the best possible experience.

Simone joined us in 2015 as a British Nationality Adviser. Raised in Cape Town, she has a B.Comm in Industrial and Organisational Psychology. Among other things, Simone has worked as an assistant within a psychology practice and as an administrator at a 5-star hotel where she had the opportunity to interact with customers from all corners of the globe on a daily basis. Empathetic and professional, Simone is an avid traveler, who has spent a lot of time exploring Europe.

Ancois joined Philip Gamble & Partners in 2015 as a Business Administrator. She is often the first point of contact for our clients, assisting with queries and providing guidance relating to various nationality issues. With plenty of experience in customer service, Ancois is passionate about customer care, using her customer service skills to ensure that each client receives the best possible service.

Monika was born in the Eastern Cape of South Africa and was raised in Gauteng. She received a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology and Gender Studies from the University of Cape Town and is currently completing her Psychology Honours through UNISA. She is also fluent in both English and German. Monika joined Philip Gamble as a Nationality Adviser in December 2015. Apart from interacting with clients, she also thrives on providing professional, efficient and authentic customer service.

Nicole joined Philip Gamble & Partners as an administrator, bringing with her a strong background in customer relations and various service industries. Nicole is drawn to people, whether through work or in her spare time, when she plays softball for South Africa. Holding a Diploma in Project Management, Nicole is also in the process of completing her degree in Public Relations.
